How this look comes together
Brick-building birthdays want big, clean blocks of color — so that’s how we built it. Instead of a soft blend, the garland stacks the colors in chunky runs: a green cluster, a blue cluster, a wall of yellow, a red base, with minis in the opposite color tucked in like studs.
The garland climbs the corner beside the fireplace and leans toward the mantel, where the hand-painted banner hangs — a custom piece we made to match the theme, bricks and minifigure included.

Styling notes
Color-block the table to match: primary-colored plates and cups in stacks, a brick-topped cake, and a DIY "build station" with a bin of bricks that keeps small guests busy. A hand-painted banner like this one is worth the effort — it is the detail people remember. Hang the garland so the lowest clusters sit at kid height: it means every birthday-boy photo has balloons beside him, not only above him, and the fireplace stays the backdrop. Our tip: Tuck a few minis in the opposite color into each block — the "studs" are what make the garland read as bricks rather than stripes.
